The 45th edition of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair concluded on Tuesday. The fair, held under the concept of “The Power of Nature: The Power of Gems and Jewellery” featured a rich variety of diamonds, colored precious and semi precious gems, pearls, and created gems from 1,300 exhibitors from Thailand and around the world.

The 2010 AGTA GemFair™ saw a 7 percent increase in buyer traffic over the 2009 show, the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) reported Wednesday. A total of 8176 registered buyers attended the event, which was held February 2-7 at the Tucson Convention Center in Tuscon, Arizonza.

The Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair began its diamond trade show in a “lively fashion,” Sunday morning, according to a release by the Antwerp Diamond Bourse. Dozens of European jewelry and diamond buyers “thronged” the more than 40 stands set up in the bourse’s historical trading hall.

The Antwerp Diamond Bourse said the global economic meltdown is partly the reason why it chose to “step up branding efforts” by organizing the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair, a by-invitation-only event to be held from February 7-9 on the 105-year-old bourse’s trading floor.
