  1. if the diamonds are supposed to be real..
the chances are zero to nil that there’s just “one fake diamond” in the necklace.
they’re either all real, or all fake.
There’s just no benefit to having a few of each..
but anyways, what you are seeing is a quality difference.
The one that looks milky has many “inclusions” (natural clarity characteristics)……… which have bearing on how the diamond is going to look to your naked eye, along with how its going to look under magnification.
You should take your item to a reputable jeweler and have them stick it under a microscope for you and explain what people in the diamond industry call “the 4 c’s” which are the basic guidelines for buying diamonds.
it’ll help you familiarize yourself with diamond qualities and then next time around when you and your boyfriend are out buying diamonds it will be a more rewarding experience.
good luck and congratulations on your new necklace. =)

  2. you can tell a real diamond from a fake one like this: a fake (cubic zirconia) looks like you can see the ‘bottom’ of the stone when you look down into it—a diamond –a real one–looks bottomless. plus the cut of a diamond is not deep—a cube will be ‘taller’ from top(the table) to bottom (the bottom point). clean the necklace in vinegar and baking soda—let it soak and then rinse using a tooth brush—real diamonds have ‘fire’ (very intense colors of the rainbow-especially in sunlight),clean or not—and real diamonds almost always have a flaw or dark spot somewhere—-look using a magnifying glass. tell us how big the diamonds are–in comparison to a pea or a the head of a pin or something–if they are so small, they are probably real but of not so great quality. you could go to a jeweler–or a pawn shop—they will know for sure.

  3. You should of asked the professional that cleaned it to inspect it to make sure they are all real.

  4. it could mean it is fake and if u dont know u can go up to ur bf and ask him where he got it and since u picked it out u could ask if u could see the recipt and then take it to where ever he got it and ask them
