As I like to let your eyes do the listening and the diamonds do the singing, the only question you need to ask yourself as you watch this clip is which one is capturing your heart? I purposely leave these anonymous so you’re not biased by anything else but the beauty.

Hey rage,
You’re right on with the clarity issues of 1 & 5. Both are nice chunky faceted cushions and totally eye clean. The client we cut this for took #5 in fact. #3 actually had a fine depth. The difference in the optics were the results of pavilion/crown angle relationship combined with its particular facet structure. #1 is a modern gem cut to look old too.
Good call. I just love chunky faceted cushions with great optics.
Did you see the little clip featuring a .76ct F I1
I like #1 and #5 the most. They seem to have the best clarity. #5′s style seems like #2′s, but with better clarity. #3′s depth seems a bit off but it could just be the video.
Was #1 a modern gem cut to look old? One of the long sides seems to curve outward a bit more than the other, ala the Hope Diamond, but it has a faceted girdle. Antique cuts, asschers and cushions are my favorites, I think.
